Shirley Hollis Obituary

Shirley League Hollis, 80, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Clinton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Morris Hayes and Lorene Burroughs League. She attended Georgia State University where she became a Registered Nurse. For over 35 years, Shirley proudly served the community with dedication and care, retiring from the Greenwood County Health Department.

Shirley, affectionately known by her family as "BeBe," is survived by her sons, Glen Hollis (Lynn) and Mark Hollis (Nikki); grandsons, Hayes Hollis, Andrew Hollis, and Noah Hollis; and brother-in-law, Harold Coleman.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Grace L. Coleman and Marsha L. Orr.

A private family memorial service will be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bleeding Disorders Association of SC, 25 Woods Lake Road #300, Greenville, SC 29607, or Laurens County Humane Society ,793 Poplar Street, Clinton, SC 29325.

The family of Shirley Hollis would like to express their gratitude to the many nurses and caretakers that lovingly cared for her during her final days.
