I will always remember Dr. Dan. As a caregiver, knowing how he cared for others was an inspiration for me when I was working at St. Augustine.

He delivered me In 1977 and my sister in 1975. He was a good man. I remember reading the bible book for kids in his office. I was always afraid he was gonna give me a shot. He truly was amazing and made me laugh.

Mary, I am so sorry to have just learned of Dan's passing. He was a great doctor with a lot of wisdom. I also enjoyed the time he was able to spend with us in Fl. golfing, a true passion of his. His memories and "quotes" will live on. Hold those great memories close to your heart. I will keep you and the family in my prayers. The other Helen W.

Dr. McCarthy you were the absolute best! You delivered all 3 of my children, back in the 70s. You were very caring and compassionate, always deeply attentive to your patients. We all loved you! You were most very special to all of us!❤

Dr. Dan was my doctor because he was my wife’s doctor, and her family before that. Later, he became my kids’ doctor.
I think we all liked him so much because he was so fatherly. He was gentle, yet matter of fact. Professional, but very interested in me as a person.
We all hated it when he retired, but knew he deserved it!!!!
May the Lord grant deep peace to his loving family, and may the many happy memories heal the grief in their hearts.

Met Dr McCarthy only once, at the wedding of his daughter, Jennifer, to my brother-in-law, Alex. He was a lovely kind and gracious gentleman and left us with fond memories of a beautiful day. May he rest in peace.

Oh Mary, I am sooo sorry. I was just thinking of you guys not too long. Growing up Dr Dan was my family’s doctor. I remember a time in high school I had gotten mono. I came into the office to be checked out & ended up passing that on to Dr Dan...he wasn’t too happy & let me know the next time I saw him. But we both had a good laugh later in life. I missed him terribly after he retired because we had some great conversations about family. He loved his family & I know you all will miss him so much.

He was my Dr. and friend for many years. Delivering my children and taking care of us in many ways. I have thought of him and Mary many times since he retired. I know he will be missed. We lost Wayne in March. I know how difficult this will be for his family , my prayers are with all of you.

In my almost 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, I called on a lot of physicians. I can say, in all honesty, that Dr. McCarthy was my favorite. He always had a moment to talk and listen. We shared a lot of jokes and laughs over the years. I enjoy baking and his favorite pie was an apple crumb pie and I made quite a few of them for over those years when he was in my territory. When my husband and I had our son, Jack, in August of 1993, he was one of the first to visit us in the hospital. He was a dear and no doubt, he will be missed by many. God bless his family at this time.
