Robert Anger Obituary

Robert T. Anger, Sr.

99, passed away on April 27, 2015. He was born August 2, 1915, to Isaac and Eliza (Partridge) Anger in Saginaw, Michigan, the second youngest of their 15 children.  He married Delphine (Del) Jane Frazee in Detroit, Michigan on June 8, 1942.  They shared the following 68 years until she passed away in 2010.  Bob enlisted in the Army in 1941 and became literally the "Bugle Boy from Company B".  He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. upon completion of Officer's Candidate School in 1943 and retired from the Army Security Agency as a Lt. Colonel in 1963 after nearly 23 years of service.  Bob then took a civilian position with the National Security Agency, retiring for the final time in August 1980 while living in Arnold, Maryland.  Bob and Del moved to Indianapolis in 1987, which very soon became their home after many years of multiple duty stations.  They were active members of the Senior Group at Epworth United Methodist Church until moving to the Forum at the Crossing in 2007.  Bob was avid outdoorsman and sportsman, hunting in northern Michigan, trying out for the Detroit Tigers, and continuing to play golf into his 90s.  Bob is survived by his son Robert T. Anger, Jr. (Julie), granddaughter Chrissie Stacy (Ralph), great grandchildren Lydia, Thomas and Henry Stacy, as well as niece Charlotte Watt and nephew Ronald Miller.  There will be a memorial service at the Forum at the Crossing, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. followed by internment at Crown Hill Cemetery.  The family wishes to thank the staff at the Forum at the Crossing, both Independent Living and the Wellness Center, as well as Alliance Home Care and Five Star Home Health, for all their warmth and caring over the years.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Epworth United Methodist Church, 6450 Allisonville Road, Indpls., IN 46220.  Arrangements handled by Flanner and Buchanan - Broad Ripple.
