Alice Darnell Obituary

DARNELL
ALICE, Aug. 12, 1950 - Feb. 17, 2007 of Phila. She graduated with a Business Degree from Antioch University and was employed for a number of years at Temple University as the Assistant to the Vice President. In recent years, she worked with her long time companion Fred Ramirez. Alice leaves behind her son Brian J. Dayton (Jen) and her brother Francis J. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Jane Wagner (Stuger). She also leaves behind one grandchild, Aidan whom she adored and was an extremely devoted grand-mother. Alice put up a courageous battle with breast cancer, always staying strong for her family until the end. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Alice was the proud creator of "Coqui and Friends" cartoon coloring book for children with behavioral health problems and was a volunteer teacher, teaching GED courses at Incarnation School. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Alice's Life Celebration Tues. starting 8:30 A.M. from DEAN/GEITNER/GIVNISH OF FOX CHASE, 7900 Oxford Ave. (at Borbeck St.) and are invited to participate in her Funeral Mass St. Cecilia's Church 10 AM. Int. private. Friends may call Monday eve. after 7 P.M. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in Alice's memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Phila., PA 19111.
