BERNIE, died peacefully in his home March 3, at the age of 80. Osh or Doc (as he was called) will be remembered most for the impact he had on thousands of youth. A long-time Burlington City High School chemistry and physics teacher, as well as football and basketball coach, from 1958 until his retirement in 1995, Bernie ran into former students, always thrilled to see him, wherever he went. A former owner and director of Camp Ramblewood, a children's overnight camp, Bernie is remembered as one with a heart as big as his booming voice. In his early years, Bernie was a scholar athlete at Central High School in Philadelphia, where he played varsity football, basket-ball, and baseball. From there, he went to Temple University, played basketball, and was extremely proud to be a part of the Owls' 1956 NCAA Final Four run. He will be remem-bered by many and greatly missed by his daughters Marjorie, Ilene, and Janet Osherow; their spouses; his 5 grandchildren Adam, Max, Leo, Ali, and Franki; his longtime companion Anne Marie Heavey; his sister-in-law, nieces and nephews; as well as his treasured friends.
