Edward Borer

Borer Edward T. A Philadelphia investment executive and civic leader, died August 16, 2025, at 86. Mr. Borer's career began in high school at Hopper Soliday & Co., Inc., where he rose to president before resigning in 1989 after taking the firm public on the New York Stock Exchange (HSC). He went on to found Philadelphia Corp. for Investment Services and from 1979 to 2000 chaired EnergyNorth, Inc. (NYSE: ENI), New Hampshire's largest natural gas distributor. In 2005 he co-founded Borer Denton & Associates, Inc., a boutique registered investment advisor, serving as chairman until his death. A 1960 graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Borer was a Chartered Financial Analyst® and active in securities governance. He chaired the NASD District 10 Business Conduct Committee, served as an arbitrator for the New York and Philadelphia Stock Exchanges, AAA, and FINRA, and held leadership roles in the Philadelphia Securities Association and the Philadelphia Society of Securities Analysts.
