HARRIS MANN Obituary

MANN
DR. HARRIS

Passed away On October 18, 2018. The loving husband of Maxine Mann and devoted father to daughters, Sydney and Rebecca. Harris was self-made, hard working, and had an enormous amount of grit. He was gracious and welcoming, with a sparkle in his eyes at the meeting of any new, old, or soon-to-be friends. He had a deep love of all animals. Harris was everyone's perpetual short order cook and helper in every way - whether it be homework, advice, or a medical diagnosis - Harris was a jack of all trades. He was strong minded, brilliant, and almost always right in his convictions. Harris was unique and interesting, lighting up all of our lives, like he lit up the dance floor. There were many lessons to be learned from Harris and here are a few...
-There is nothing that can't be solved by offering a corned beef special sandwich from Famous Deli and a hug.
-Holiday dinners are far better when you invite all friends and family to join you.
-Accept and care about every-one, no matter who they are, with boundless energy and zeal. -There is always time to make new friends and talk to old friends on the beach.
-Always put out way more food than you need to ensure all are fed well including unexpected, but welcome guests.
Harris leaves behind two loving brothers, Dr. Steven and Dr. Farrel Mann. He was a caring and involved uncle to his nieces and nephews, Josh and Jodi Mann, Shari and Steve Herst, Stephanie and Chris Fikry, and Heather and Aeden Motnyk. He was a terrific son-in-law to David and Joyce Leff, as well as a devoted brother-in-law to Honey and Paula Mann. He loved and was a dedicated Dentist to his patients and an authentic friend to many.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Services Sunday 9 A.M. precisely, GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton. Int. King David Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings at his late residence. I was floored to learn about this just two weeks ago. I had to look it up and here I am.

Up until Dr. Mann got sick, I was faithfully seeing him for about 20 years. He was one of the few dentists that got it and he secured a patient forever.

I'm sorry to hear of his passing and my condolences go out to his entire family. I didn't know him outside of a doctor/patient setting, but I bet he would have been fun to hang out with.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Dr. Mann. He was my dentist for 30 years. He also was my mother's dentist. He was very caring and always there for me with all of my dental concerns. Even after I moved from the Philadelphia area, I would make the 1hour trip for my visits. 30 years is a long time and he is surely missed. He loved his wife, daughters and his dogs too. Rest In Peace Dr. Mann and send my love to my mother. God Bless You and Keep You.

Harris and Maxine were 2 of the most beautiful I have had the pleasure of knowing. Twenty years of sharing family stories and predicaments brought us closer as we navigated kids and parents. I was their pharmacist and most of our bonding took place in the cough and cold aisle. Harris would encourage me to join his buddies for basketball at the Y and relay stories about his practice. When my wife passed suddenly a few years ago, they were on a mission to keep me focused on my life with constant emails and cards. When I announced I had met someone a few years later, Harris would ask me some very personal questions and Maxine would be embarrassed to hear us texting back and forth. What a beautiful couple. I loved them so for who they were and how they were during my darkest hour. I love you Harris. God has a plan.

I first met Harris many years ago when he was a new dentist and I was a new teacher at The Bridge in Northeast Philadelphia. The students were teens at a residential drug and alcohol program. Harris would come to provide dental exams. I imagine many had never had dental care but they thought Harris was a very cool dentist! The teachers loved his enthusiasm and friendliness! Perhaps the twinkle in his eye at that time was due to a budding relationship with the beautiful Maxine.
I never imagined at that time we would one day be neighbors and friends.
The video and service were the perfect tribute.

Rest in peace Harris. XO

We met in third grade over 50 years ago. We attended elementary school, hebrew school, middle school, high school and college together. We played basketball at the y but most importantly we had lunch for years every time I came to his office for dental services and we caught up with our lives.
I never met a more loving and caring person in my life ! I will miss my buddy Harris. Although I didnt know his family personally he would often talk about them with such love and joy and it made me feel as though I knew them well.
May Harris
Rest in Peace

So sad to learn of Dr. Mann's passing. My husband and I were long time patients of his. He would always come in, sit down & chat before he would begin his work. He would ask how you were doing, how the family was... He was a great dentist, always very gentle and honest. He was very special and he will be truly missed. Our deepest sympathy to the entire Mann family.

It is a terrible shock that my wonderful, intelligent, humane cousin passed away. It is extremely hard for me to figure out why such a wonderfully good, and great person would have to suffer with such a debilitating disease. I will miss his kindness, and friendship to me..

We send our deepest condolences to Sydney, Rebecca, Maxine and the entire Mann family. Harris was a sweet, kind person that we will remember fondly. His enthusiastic, genuine, down-to-earth spirit came across immediately. The world definitely lost another of the good ones. We hope that with each coming day, the pain is replaced just a little more by the sweet memories of happy days together. You are loved.

There are no words to Express the sorrow I feel right now over reading about Dr Mann's passing. Harris was seemingly one of the last of the true gentlemen. As my family's dentist, he was second to none. As a classmate, he was loved and respected by all of us. But the lasting memory that I will always have of Harris was the care and time that he took with my wife Lisa, when she was going through a very difficult time in her life with breast cancer, and chemotherapy. There were some very specific precautions that Harris had to follow to fo her dental work, which required much more of his time and understanding than his typical patients required. Harris took that time, and then some, offering her a reassuring hug, and genuine concern over what she was going through. The world has lost a tremendous man and human being. My deepest condolences to the Mann family. Please know that your Husband/Father was loved and respected by many. He will be sorely missed.

Harris was a wonderful person and friend. He will be missed more than I can express. My high-school classmate, pick-up basketball teammate and friend, and my dentist for the past 35 years. Even after I moved to Doylestown and lived 45 minutes away from his office, I always came back and brought my sons to Harris as our dentist....so sorry Maxine, Sydney and Rebecca... Your husband and your father was truly loved and made a difference in so many lives.. So sorry Sincerely, Rusty Allen

Harris was one of my best friends and will be truly missed. He always brought a positive perspective and energy to every conversation. Caring and generous would be the first two adjectives that come to mind when describing Harris. I cant tell you how many times we would speak and I would have to redirect the conversation to find out what was going on with him. When he would finally talk about his life you got the Harris smile. He was so proud of Max and the girls and all their achievements. RIP my friend. Your memory will never diminish.
