Helen Scott Obituary

Scott Helen (Gay) (nee Elliot) On Friday, August 30, 2024 at age 95. Beautiful, valiant, wise, resilient, funny, self-contained, she was a pianist, piano teacher, mother of three, grandmother of seven, and a shining example of how to live gracefully, through thick and thin, into a ripe old age. Born in Boston, she was a loyal alumna of the Shady Hill School and a graduate of the Foxcroft School and Radcliffe College. Married for 42 years to Robert Montgomery Scott of Wayne, PA, she served on the board of the Curtis Institute of Music, taught for several decades at the Settlement Music School, and continued to teach privately into her nineties. A Memorial Service will be held in a few months.

Gay was wise, gracious, generous and thoughtful. I´m so grateful to have spent several months living with Gay and her family in 1968. This was a wonderful way to launch my life in the US.
