Jeffry Komins Obituary

Komins Jeffry I, MD It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffry I. Komins, MD. Jeff grew up with his adoring parents, Hedda and David Komins, and younger sister, Jill, in Wynnefield and Penn Valley, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Harrison High School, Villanova University and Hahnemann Medical College. He did his internship and residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Jeff was a renowned and beloved obstetrician-gynecologist in Wilmington, Delaware for more than 20 years before becoming a leader in hospital administration in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan. During his career, he delivered more than 7,000 babies, oversaw hundreds of hospitals nationwide, improved patient care, and enhanced medical education throughout the country. He was adored for his compassionate demeanor, brilliant mind, gentle bedside manner and passion for learning and teaching. He was always willing to help anyone with any medical issue. Jeff's dedication to his patients, students, friends, career and, most of all, his cherished family was unparalleled. Jeff is survived by the love of his life and wife of more than 58 years, Sue; his daughter Elisa Morris and son-in-law Bret Morris; his daughter Deborah Ross and son-in-law David Ross; his four grandsons, Jake and Cole Morris, and Bennett and Carter Ross; his sister Jill Rosenblum and brother-in-law Dr. Norman Rosenblum; his sister-in-law Joyce Brenner; his brother-in-law Steven Brenner and sister-in-law Charlene; his niece Betsy Rapport (Marc and son Hunter), and nephews Doug Rosenblum, Stuart Brenner (Sarah) and Gregory Brenner (Lesley); and a close-knit extended family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jeffry I. Komins Fund for Education and Care for the Delaware Community at the Medical Society of Delaware (https://www.medicalsocietyofdelaware.org/delaware/CMMSD/Nav_Items/Jeffry_I_Komins.aspx) or to a charity of your choosing. A Funeral Service will be held at 5P.M. on Wednesday, August 27th, at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1801 Baynard Boulevard, Wilmington, Delaware. Burial will be private. SCHOENBERG MEMORIAL CHAPEL

Denison & Wendy Hatch

Earlier today

Wendy & Denison Hatch were shocked to read Jeff's obituary in Monday's paper. Jeff was a caring doctor for many years and a humble generous person who left the world a better place than when he arrived. We send our sincere condolences to Sue and his family and regret to say that we are scheduled to be out of town and unable to attend his service tomorrow.
