JOHN COLGAN Obituary
JOHN P., suddenly December 5, 2010, age 43. Beloved husband of Nicole (nee Rispo). Loving father of Paige, John III, Cassidy, and Taylor. Loving son of Dorothy (the late John P. Sr.) Colgan. Son-in-Law of Coralee (Robert) Lowe, and David "Bucky" Rispo. Grandson of James (Dorothy) Lanzetta. Brother of Michelle(the late David)Fox, Dorothy (Sean) McCausland, James (Loretta Harris), Michael (Helene), and the late Eric Colgan. Brother-in-law of Mark (Jeanette), Matthew (Chrissy) Rispo. Jennifer (Timothy) Maguire, and Dina (Brian) Shroth. Also survived by many nephews and nieces. Relatives, friends and members of Local 1 Brick Pointers and Trowel Trapes are invited to his Viewing and Funeral Friday, 6 to 8 P.M., at EARAMINAS FUNERAL HOME, 2339-41 E. Allegheny Ave. (at Aramingo Ave.). Funeral Service to begin at 8 P.M. Int. Private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Colgan Children, c/o Paige Colgan, 626 Smith Hill Road, Stroudsburg PA 18360.

John today was christmas and it was so hard not having you here and not just for me but for your kids and for our family. It was so hard to do all of this without you my heart is still breaking and I dont know how I will every be the same without you. I am so mentally and physically drained after losing you, but I did it I made sure your children had a christmas and although it was hard for all of us the kids did enjoy the pictures of all of us and the flowers I put out for you and the card that I got for you so we did our best to get through and my family was here and made sure that our kids enjoyed christmas the way you would want them to. It really hit me hard having to shop and wrap and put out the things for our kids without you I tried not to cry but I could not stop remembering all of the fun we would have on christmas eve getting things ready for the kids and how you were like a little kid always trying to give me my gifts because you could not wait till the morning, wow 22 christmas nights together and from here on out it will never be the same for me or the kids without you. I am not sure how I am supposed to get through this without you. You would be happy that my family surrounded me and the kids, I know you wanted me to end the stupid fight I was having with them and I wish I did before you were gone, but you know that they will be there for me & our kids like they always were for us. Your sister Michelle and my sister Jen opened up there homes to me and the kids until I could make it back home and I know you would be happy about that. I dont know where we go from here but every step will be so painful without you. I am so sorry for everything that happened during this nightmare and I know you love me & our kids more then anything & that is what we will carry with us forever. I will soon bring your ashes home with me where you will always be remembered by your family who honestly loved you. Till we meet again my baby your with me forever.

John, it was our first night here in the house without you and it was really hard for all of us I know christmas is soon and I need to get the decorations up and do the shopping I did not even start but it is so hard I dont know what to do it is taking me forever to just one simple thing I feel like I am stuck and my heart is breaking here without you. The kids said they did not want to do christmas there is no point without you, they told me to pay for the services and not worry about them, you have 4 really amazing kids. Baby we all miss you sooo much this pain is tearing me up I am hoping I find the strength and energy to get through this. I love you forever. Your wife Nicole

You are like my second family and John was like another father to me. You guys were there for our family after my dad passed away and we are forever grateful for it. This is something that is very hard especially with losing a wonderful man like John. He was a great man, and reminded me of my dad a lot.
