Kenneth W Gross

Gross Kenneth W. August 7, 1943 - March 18, 2024 Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Bexley, OH Age 80, died peacefully on March 18, 2024 after a brief illness, his wife Bonnie Gross at his side. Ken lived a life he loved, filled with family, good friends, travel, and professional success. Born in Rockville Centre, NY, he grew up in and around New York City, graduated from Hofstra University, and later attended Syracuse University. His intelligence, creativity, and work ethic were particularly evident in his professional life. Settling in the Philadelphia area, he co-founded the Philadelphia Investment Banking Company in 1983 and enjoyed a long career there as a respected securities fraud analyst and investment banker. He was a proud member of the Main Line Unitarian Church in Devon, PA, where he served as president and financial advisor for many years. He also served on the board of the national Unitarian Universalist Association giving of his time and expertise in a variety of roles. Ken and Bonnie became residents of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida three years ago after being snow birds for several years. Ken met Bonnie on a blind date set up by a dear friend. They were married on his 50th birthday, so that he would never forget their anniversary. They traveled extensively in their 30 years together, including adventures boating down the Amazon River, exploring Italy, and touring distilleries in Scotland. They also shared moments of quiet time together playing Scrabble, enjoying each other's company, and visiting with family and friends. Their children (two from Ken and two from Bonnie) got along well, and there were many happy and relaxing vacations and holidays together in their homes at the Jersey Shore, Florida, Ohio, and even on far away cruises. Ken loved his blended family, and was very grateful for the many wonderful people that were brought into his life. Ken was always up for a joke, a discussion about politics or the market, or a ribbing to one of his kids about their football team's latest disaster. He was a fiercely devoted father and grandfather who supported children and grandchildren through some of the hardest times of their lives. He was kind to everyone, and always saw the good in people. He made friends easily, and kept them for life. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Janice and Arlene, and his sister-in-law Beverly. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his sister Nancy, his children Peter Gross and Vickie Mulkerin, stepchildren Ashley Price and Rider Sargent, daughters and sons-in-law Esperance, Gary, David, and Ramsey, and grandchildren Jane, Declan, Abby, Sam, Winslow, Hamilton, Zora, and Frazier.
