KYLE E., on Aug. 10, 2007 of Chalfont, PA. Beloved son of Eugene G. and Christine C. Houck (nee Costello). Dear brother of Liam C. Houck and Gabrielle Houck. Maternal grand-son of Patricia A. Kerrigan Costello and the late Francis Costello. Paternal grandson of William T. and Regina A. O'Donnell Houck. Also survived by his beloved companion, Erin Lyons, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Viewing on Wed. eve. from 6 to 8 P.M. at THE JOSEPH A. FLUEHR III FUNERAL HOME, 241 E. Butler Ave. (Route 202 at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA and to his Funeral Mass on Thursday 11 A.M. at St. Jude Church, Chalfont, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Horsham Clinic, 722 E. Butler Pk., Ambler, PA 19002.

a few months have passed and the fact that you are not here will never fully sink in. i still wake up each and every morning by saying "Good Morning Kyle". i know that you are and always will be by my side and i am so grateful of that. if i could have anything in the world it would be to just hear your voice for a few seconds so you could tell me how great heaven is. i recently got a nice wake up call and i know you were on the other end of the line. i appreciate the second chance i have been given and i promise you that i will do much better in my studies and in life in general. i still have some skeletons i need to clean out but i know you will give me a hand getting back on track. whenever the sky is dark and problems are near, i can always call your name and know you are here. as the tears gather in my eyes i want you to know that i cry not because i am sad, that goes without question, i cry because now i must carry on without you in my life. the thing i am most happy about however is the fact that the Eagles play outside and not inside a dome stadium. if they played in a dome, how would you watch? I love you brother and i will talk to you tommorow morning.

When I think about the qualities I admire most about you, I can't help but return to our heyday at St. Tim's. How many years did teachers sit us side-by-side because our last names fell together in the alphabet? Or, how many times were those teachers forced to separate us because our conversation was just more interesting than social studies or ILA?? I'm guessing the answer is too large to count. And I also believe that our friendship grew from something more than simple proximity - it was your relentless energy, your amazing heart, your humor and loyalty. These were the tools you used to pry shy kids like me out of our shells, and they were gifts that we all share now, even after you've left us. During that first hard year at Roman, I always looked to you for a familiar face and smile, and I drew support from that. Kyle...the true reality has not yet sunk in. I still wait on the weekends for you to pop in my house just like nothing ever happened. my life will forever be altered without you in it. Although you are gone, i know that if any problems were to ever arise, you would be right by my side. I loved you more than a brother and your sudden loss i will never recover from, however i know that you would want me and many others to learn that there is much more out there and to cherish every second of life because it could end so abruptly. i just want to say that since i heard the news from mike it seems like life is really spinning out of control. i just keep saying "why?" there must be some answer, some reason, some meaning to your being taken so soon from this earth. i thank God & you for the priviledge of sharing in part of your precious childhood. i recall the day you all moved to hawthorne st. your mom coming down to introduce herself, & you meeting justin for the very first time. then, the next day how you walked into the house & said "hi, hey where is that kid i met yesterday?" mike saying back, " hi kyle, how did you get in?" you saying back, ever so smoothly(even at 4), "oh i just walked in!" what a gem!!! I just thought, wow this kid is gonna shake this block up ;-) as gwen said, mayfair will never be the same & that is good. you touched many! my hope is that your friends take this loss & your life for what it was, proof that friendship means the most, kindness spreads, smiles linger in our memories, & love lasts forever. it isn't how you leave, it's what you did & shared while you were here. watch over them all kyle, they'll need your strength now, for you now know the true meaning of it all. you see truth!

i so wanted to be at kyle's mass last thursday, but things prevented me from coming up there for you all. i want you to know my heart & prayers were going out to you all. you are such a special family to me, & i still miss having you around to spread that special houck feeling of welcome. as i thought of this loss, i came to see what the purpose of kyle's life may have been. he created this special family! If not for kyle's entrance into the world, the bond of chris & gene may not have been so huge & tight. he is the seed that started the family. you took it(the gift of kyle's life) & ran forward with the faith that God would help you along in this world. he is the reason you are what you are, you are where you are, & you have what you have. his life force kept pushing you both to do the best you could for your kids. take some faith in that fact if you can. he certainly had the best parts of both of you. so giving, so loving, & so friendly. driving me a little kooky while camping perhaps, but always such a sweetheart with a glimmer in his irish eyes, like the both of you. i am taking comfort in this, without kyle's life, no matter how short, none of what we see as reality would be. i hope you can see this too. chrissy, you know my heart is with you especially as MOM! you have helped me grow in so many ways & see things through your positive eyes. you put my boxing gloves back on me when i needed it most. if i can even help you in the smallest way-in a heartbeat girl. i will be there. you were right, he was too good. liam & gabby, i will be up with my famous choc. milk & cookies. daddy knows which ones i mean too. God knows the time of my arrival. i follow his clock. things happen when they should. liam i have seen you go from baby, to middle, to BIG brother. kyle will be there to help you guide & protect gabby. she is a gift you were given also.

as i said when i saw you, you gave him LOVE! not like mom & dad family love, but LOVE-real love. i know how much you must be hurting & how empty you may feel right now. my hope & prayer for you is that you take this love & grow through it. i think with kyle's continued love from above, you will learn from this & it will make you a better woman, mom, & wife. his energy will always be a part of you. nothing or no one will ever be able to break that bond you felt together. i am sure you have already felt him there. knowing ky he is probably trying to get you to laugh somehow.
i will end with what i told kyle when he & gene were driving away from their hawthorne st home. i gave him a pic i had of him in his football uni with some of his old neighb chums & said, "if you ever need any help or someone in mayfair to help or talk to, mike & i are HERE!" for all of you 2...
