Dear Stephanie, Olivia, and Rowan and Family.

I was heartbroken to hear of your loss. I wish there was something I could say to help, but there is nothing to make it better. Remember God is near to the broken hearted and God loves you all (even if it doesn't fell like it right now) and Marty is with him now. Please know that there are many, many people who have you in their prayers, their thoughts, and their hearts at this horrible time -including those who worked with Stephanie at DBHIDS (like me). I never had the chance to meet Marty and I always wondered if I might meet him by being pulled over and I could say, "please say hello to your family." As the priest said during the funeral, Marty died trying to help another. I think he is a hero and what you and the other trooper from Delaware said helps confirm that. Stephanie, I think you did an awesome job as you gave the eulogy for your husband and best friend and it helped me to know him a little as someone who never got to meet him.

Again, I am so very sorry for what has happened and what you are going through. Take care.

Grace and Peace,
Jay Peterson
