DR. PETER
On April 13, 2019. Husband of Selma (nee Jacobson) of Bala Cynwyd. Father of Lisa, Andrea and Natalie. Father-in-law of Drew Misher, Michael Frezel and Abe Marciano. Brother of David Brothman (Dina) and Michael Brothman. Grand-father of Lilly, Sam, Gabriel, Jacob, Jonah, Max, Tess and Winnie. Relatives and friends are invited to Services Monday 12 noon Har Zion Temple, 1500 Hagysford Rd., Penn Valley. Int. West Laurel Hill Cem. The family will return to the late residence. Contributions in his memory may be made to Abramson Cancer Center or United Hatzalah of Israel.

Dr Brothman was one of my teachers when I was an endodontic resident at AEMC from 1982 to 1984 . He was an excellent teacher generously sharing his knowledge and advice . He helped motivate me to become a better endodontist. My sincerest condolences to Selma and his family.

Dr. Brothman was a kind and skilled endodontist who loved life and passed away much to soon. I recently learned of his passing from my
Dentist, Dr.. Frank, who recommended him. May god bless his soul.

So sorry to read abot Peter's passing. I hope you remember me (Was very good friend of David's). Please accept my sincere condolences for you, your family & David. It's sad that we're at that point in our lives when our loves ones pass away.
I still have my 3 siblings in Montreal but the age numbers are climbing on some.
May the good memories of Peter help you get through this difficult time. I remember him as a very kind person.

A genteel and thoughtful fly fisherman, a (somewhat) controlled motorcyclist, and--by the way--the best dentist whose work I ever saw.Please know that your husband, father, and grandfather Peter left this world so much the better thanks to his infinite patience and superb clinical skills and expertise. I was so privileged to have him as a mentor and colleague for almost forty years; he gave my patients comfort and pain relief when I could not. Please know that SO many people whom you will never meet share in your profound loss, as do I.

My most heartfelt condolences to your family. I had known Dr. Brothman for well over 25 years as I work for Dr. Madani. He was always so nice to me, our mutual patients and my staff. We were in touch even when he was sick. He will be greatly missed.

Peter and I were classmates in dental school. Wonderful man real mensch.i last saw him in oct. at our class reunion. I kept in touch very week and felt him ebb away.. I am saddened to lose a friend like him. May you all be spared from further grief

I received the sad news of Peter's passing from Sid Katz today. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I have been meaning to connect with you for the last few weeks as I came across a letter that Peter sent me back in 1968. It was a wonderful letter full of Peter's enthusiasm and energy. I am sad to hear that Peter has passed after a long and courageous battle with cancer. We met in 1947 when we were three and became close friends. We even sang and recorded together in the 1960's. We drifted apart when we moved from Montreal to Vancouver and he and Selma to Pennsylvania. We did reunite for our son James bar Mitvah' in the 90's and stayed in touch. Peter was a mensch, loved by his students and was a great contributor to their education. My condolences to Selma and their children. Love, Sid Katz.

I first met Dr. Peter Brothman in 1979 when I was a postdoc endodontics resident at Penn and he was on the faculty. He was an extraordinary teacher, mentor and clinician. It was clear that he truly wanted his residents to become the very best that they could be. Fast forward to 2006 when I became Chair of the Endodontics Division at Albert Einstein Medical Center and my dear friend Peter was on the faculty. He was the same outstanding teacher and mentor to our residents and was loved by all in our department. We became good friends, confided in each other often and I relied on his wisdom and advice. He touched my life in a positive way and made me a better person. He will be missed by all who knew him.
My sincere condolences to his wife, Selma, and his entire family.
