Robert Rigg Obituary

RIGG ROBERT WYNKOOP RIGG SR., 86, of Manteo NC, died Saturday April 6, 2002 in a Chesapeake General Hospital. Mr. Rigg was born in Phila PA and lived in the Wayne area most of his life. He retired as a Line Supervisor with the Phila Electric Co. He was a member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge #581 and was always active as a community volunteer. He was the son of the late Horace A. and Maud Wynkoop Rigg and the widower of the late Evelyn Plumb Rigg, deceased in 1982 and the late Anne Cabeen Rigg, deceased in 1998. Mr. Rigg is survived by 2 daughters, Judith Rigg Oaksmith, of Nags Head NC and Carroll R. Herrmann, of Bethesda MD; one son, Robert W. Rigg Jr., of Raeford NC; 3 grandchildren, R. David Kemper, David A. Kemper and Michael S. McDuffie; 2 great grandchildren, Paige Sarah Kemper and Collin Robert Kemper and 3 step-children, Richard W. Bleecker, M. Lea Cabeen and Ellen B. Liversidge. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, Radnor PA on Saturday April 13, 2002 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Douglas Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Dare County Hospice, PO Box 1000, Manteo NC 27954 or to The American Heart Assn, 625 W. Ridge Pike, Suite A-1000, Conshohocken PA 19428. TWIFORD COLONY CHAPEL, Manteo is handling arrangements.
