Sandra Buford

1965 - 2021

Sandra Leigh Gaddy Buford, 56, died Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born in Fairfax, Sandra grew up in Virginia where she graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School and attended college at James Madison University in Harrisonburg. Sandra worked for the FAA and Nordstrom before moving to Sumter with her family.

Sandra faced life's challenges with courage, humor, and determination. She was quick to offer help to others and compassionate toward animals; finding loving homes for a number of rescue dogs. Her ability to take something ordinary and create beauty, her fierce loyalty toward her family and friends, her ability to see the absurdity in life and make people laugh will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald M. Buford, Jr.; her son, Trey Bolton; her four step children, Seth Buford, Aaron Buford, Matthew Buford, Angie Buford; her sister, Donna Gaddy Myer; her niece, Nikki Lowery; four nephews, Brian Myer, Jacob Myer, Chris Lowery, Andy Lowery; her beloved cousin, Karen Gammon; her two dogs, Gabi and Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Bolton; her parents, Donald Lee Gaddy and Davies McKenzie Gaddy; her sister, Susan Gaddy Carlson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Randy Bowers officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home, 221 Broad Street, Sumter, SC. (803) 775-9386.
