Brian Kenji Wenk

Brian Kenji Wenk, 41, of Oscoda, formerly of Flushing, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.
Born on March 4, 1983, in Yokosuka, Japan, Brian was the beloved son of Donald and Toshiko Wenk. Raised in Japan, he developed a deep appreciation for his heritage before moving to Michigan. After graduating from Flushing High School, Brian proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM), specializing in frame and structure. His expertise and dedication were evident throughout his service.
Following his military career, he earned his Airframe and Power plant license and became a structures lead mechanic at Kalitta Air, pursuing his passion for aviation with pride and commitment.
Brian was known for his strong will, unwavering determination, and the love and support he shared with family and friends. He approached life with energy, overcame challenges with resilience, and created cherished memories with loved ones. Whether playing video games with his son, cooking traditional Japanese meals, or lifting weights, Brian found joy in the moments that mattered most.
He is survived by his wife, Taylor L. Adams, whom he married on July 26, 2017; his children, Jude Compton, Isabella Wenk, and Olivia Wenk; his parents, Donald and Toshiko Wenk; his grandmother, "Grandma Alwen Wenk;" his sisters, Mia Wenk and Amanda (Matt) Butler; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Brandtly Butler, Hanzo Butler, Tomoe Butler, and Joseph Wenk.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, "Grandpa Dean Wenk," whose memory he held dear.
Brian's life was defined by service, passion, and devotion to those he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
