Margaret M. Holmes

Margaret M. Holmes, of Harrisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Tawas Village in East Tawas under the loving care of her family and hospice, age 99 years.
Margaret was born on Feb. 1, 1926 in East Tawas to the late William and Margaret (Cadorette) Woizeschke. She married her husband and best friend, Andy Holmes on Sept. 22, 1945, and together they celebrated 66 beautiful years of marriage until his passing.
During her married years, Margaret stayed mostly at home tending to household responsibilities. She absolutely loved crocheting, knitting and sewing as well as spending time outdoors in her garden. Margaret was an active member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Harrisville and was a 20-year member of the church choir.
Margaret is survived now by her sister, Dorothy (William) Cronk of East Tawas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Woizeschke; her husband, Andy Holmes; and siblings, Jean and her husband Cal Willett, Helen and her husband Joseph Bouchard, and Carol and her husband William Ryan.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral mass is scheduled for Monday, June 9, at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas. Friends and family may gather at the church on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral for a period of visitation. She will be laid to rest in Wilber Township Cemetery.
