Sherrie Barringer Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sherrie Ann Barringer, age 49, of East Tawas.
Sherrie touched the lives of many. She was a kind and compassionate mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by many.
Sherrie was born in Holly on Jan. 12, 1973. She is a graduate of Tawas Area High School, Class of 1991, and a Ferris State University alumnus with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1995. She was employed at Tawas Area High School as the Secretary to the Counseling Department. Her passion was working with the students.
Her favorite job and title were being a mom and a wife. Her husband, children, and family always were her priority and pride and joy. She was always there to offer a ride, meal, or home to all.
You never left Sherrie's house hungry because she made you a plate and fed you no matter if you were hungry or not. She will always be remembered for her compassion and kindness to family, students, neighbors, and anyone in need.
Sherrie married her high school sweetheart, Brent Barringer, on Sept. 23, 1995, and together created a lifelong legacy of faith, love, and family. Together they have four children, Brooke of Grand Rapids, Paige, Granite, and Khloe of East Tawas; niece and bonus daughter, Amanda (Doug) Whiteing of Grand Blanc and their children Weston and Velle; and official belly scratcher to Oden. She is the youngest daughter of Paul and the late Marilyn Roach of Tawas City; the best friend and sister to Shannon (Tim) Janis of East Tawas; the aunt, that was like the second mom, to her niece, Olivia Janis of Essexville and nephew Timothy (Haley) Janis of Gaylord; and surrogate daughter to Great Aunt Edith Blust of East Tawas.
The family celebrated the life of Sherrie on Saturday, May 14. Visitation started at 11 a.m. and service followed at 2 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
God must have really needed Sherrie for something bigger than we can understand.
In memory of her, the family would ask that you give anonymously to someone in need.
