Carolyn Jones Obituary

Carolyn Jones
March 15, 1931 - July 11, 2023
Bluffton, South Carolina - Sadly, Carolyn Wilson Jones passed away on July 11, 2023. She was born on March 15, 1931 in Chicago, IL as the younger daughter of William R. and Helen (Windisch) Wilson, and sister of Louise. Later, they moved to Ohio, and Carolyn graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, OH. She went on to Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH where she met the love of her life,
Jack Holt Jones, the very first week. They were married for 59 years, and had four children: Thomas R. Jones (Nancy), Karen Jones Everal (Bill), Robert W. Jones (Peggy), and William D. Jones, ten loving grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Later, Carolyn went back to Baldwin Wallace and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1974. Her first job was an elementary school teacher, which she loved. After the children graduated college, she and Jack decided to move to Williamsburg, VA where they built and co-owned two restaurants. Years later, they retired to Hilton Head Island, SC. They were active travelers and enjoyed the good life. They lived their last years in the active retirement community of Sun City Hilton Head, SC. Carolyn was a member of Lowcountry Presbyterian Church.
She will be buried with her loving husband and veteran, in Beaufort National Cemetery, SC. Date of memorial service to be determined.
