Bluffton, South Carolina - Kimberly Michelle Huggins of Bluffton, SC passed away on March 31, 2025. She was 56 years old.

She was born in Sumter, SC on March 26, 1969, and lived there until her family moved to the Low Country of South Carolina (Hilton Head) in 1971.

She attended Hilton Head High School and Graduated in 1987. Kimberly also attended the Lowcountry Community Church and was baptized at Burkes Beach on August 17, 2014.

She loved her work in retail in the Hilton Head and Bluffton area, and her customers loved and trusted her and would often ask for her by name. Kimberly's most recent job was at Chicos at Tanger One.

Kimberly loved to spend time with her dad at the cabin sitting around a campfire talking about life, doing target shooting, fishing, and exploring the woods looking for all sorts of wildlife at the family property on the banks of the Savannah River. She loved sharing the appreciation of all things cats with her mom. Among their favorite things to do together were thrift and consignment store shopping and visiting and playing with the cats up for adoption at PetSmart.

Kimberly was a proud and loving godmother to her niece/goddaughter, Laura, and they loved going out to breakfast and shopping together when Kim had the day off from work. Family gatherings were highlights in her life, and she was a bright light among her family.

Kim loved working in her yard and had a green thumb when it came to plants. She also loved all the animals she saw while working outside - the otters and ducks in her pond, the deer eating the shrubs, and the baby birds and tiny little lizards living in her flowerpots. She especially loved her kitties - they were blessed to have her as their mom; she rescued many over the years and gave each of them their "forever home" with her. A kitty adopted by Kimberly had truly hit the jackpot.

She was a loyal and true friend who was always genuinely joyful sharing happy times and life's milestones with those who knew her well.

She was a kind, giving, generous, and caring person who was adored and cherished by her parents and her family who will keep her near in their hearts forever.

Kimberly is survived by her parents, Kermit and Meg Huggins (formerly Mary Edna Garder of Sumter) of Hilton Head, SC; her brother Kert Huggins; sister-in-law Elizabeth Huggins, and her niece (goddaughter) Laura Huggins of Hilton Head, SC. She is preceded in death by her niece, Heather C. Huggins; her maternal grandparents, Robert L. Gardner and Gladys Player Gardner; her paternal grandparents, Kermit C. Huggins, Sr. and Marguerite Watt Huggins.

Kimberly's cremated remains will be inurned at a graveside service at 11:30am on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at the St. Lukes United Methodist Church Cemetery located at 3080 Okatie Highway in Bluffton, SC. Islandfuneralhome.com
