Beaufort, South Carolina - Rose Marie Copeland, 60, Beaufort, SC, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her residence.
Rose was born on January 2, 1963, in Beaufort, SC. She is the daughter of the late Marvin Copeland and Rosemarie Waldrop Copeland.
Rose loved the outdoors and enjoyed her wave runner. She liked teaching her nephews to enjoy water sports, crabbing and fishing.
Like her mother and brother, Rose was very athletic and excelled at any sport she participated in. Basketball, softball, even paintball were all passions of hers. Her softball teammates/coaches remained lifelong friends.
For the last 10 years, Rose raised her precious dog, Bullet. Her faithful companion to the very end. If you knew Rose, you had to know Bullet.
A few years ago, Rose was introduced to birding and would spend a lot of time learning all she could about birds. She worked at coercing wild birds to trust her and was able to get them to eat from her hand. She enjoyed sharing her secret to this with other birders online and in person.
Rose will be missed by all who knew her.
We are overwhelmed at the outpouring of love from all who knew her. God bless Rose who is now with her loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
Surviving is one brother, Marvin Copeland (wife Sibet) and one sister, Mary Boykin; two nephews, Greg Boykin and Michael Boykin (wife Sarah); her beloved yellow lab, Bullet.
