Alexander Ingram Obituary

LYNN -- Alexander "Sandy"? Ingram III, 76, of Lynn, died Tuesday at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a brief illness.  Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Alexander and Mary F. (Mulhinch) Ingram Jr. Sandy attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1960.  He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Torsk (SS-423) in the Mediterranean during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of master chief before he was discharged. Sandy was a self-employed auto mechanic at Ingram's Service Center on Western Avenue in Lynn for many years until he retired in February due to health reasons. He was a member of the Sub Vets in Marblehead, a member of the Swampscott Cribbage Club and member of the former V.F.W. Post #507. Sandy is survived by one son, Scott and his wife Souvala Ingram of Lunenburg; one brother, Andrew and his wife Maureen Ingram of Salem; two grandchildren, Greyson and Noa Ingram of Lunenburg; two nephews, Doug and Dave Ingram; good friends Bob Austin and Tom Montgomery; and many cousins in Lynn, Ipswich and Detroit. Service information: Funeral services will be held at the PARKER Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St., Lynn, on Monday at 11:30 a.m. to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Please make memorial donations in Sandy's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
