Christine Jervinis

LYNN - Mrs. Christine (Tournas) Jervinis, age 90, of Lynn, died suddenly on Monday, June 29, 2015, at Beverly Hospital, where she was taken after being stricken at the Hathorne Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Danvers. She was the wife of John Jervinis, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.A lifelong resident of Lynn, she was the daughter of the late George and Evangeline (Simon) Tournas. She attended Lynn schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.Christine was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking and caring for her family, most especially her grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dr. James Jervinis and his wife Nancy, of Danvers, and Charles Jervinis and his wife Bette, of Londonderry, N.H.; five grandchildren, Peter, Justin, Jaclyn and Sarah Jervinis, and Mellissa Standly, as well as many nieces and nephews. Christine was also the sister of the late Peter, Charles and James Tournas, Jennie Sampson and Anastasia Carabitses.Service information: Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
