David Foote Obituary

IPSWICH -- David L. Foote, 66, of Topsfield Road, Ipswich, passed away on July 20, 2020 in the Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton.  David was born in the former Cable Memorial Hospital in Ipswich on Aug. 10, 1953, the fourth of the 10 children of the late Harold F. and Rose (Funari) Foote. He lived most of his life in Ipswich where he attended school and graduated from Ipswich High School with the Class of 1972.  David was partner of Foote Brothers Canoes in Ipswich. He worked several years as a maintenance technician for a Salem-based property management company. He also held various positions in retail and worked in health care.    David is being remembered for his kind and generous spirit. A good man. He loved his family and his dear friends, taking time to visit with and to care for the family elders. He loved talking hours with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins about the family's heritage, history and secrets. He respected and cherished this information he acquired through these hours of conversations with his visits. He went out of his way to stay connected with the entire family. David also loved working with flowers and plants. Traveling the back roads of New England, he scoured flea markets and yard sales for hidden treasures. He also loved music, having had a great collection of vinyl he wore thin by the hours of repetitive play. David is survived by five brothers, Gregory Foote and his wife Debbie of Naples, Fla., Stephen Foote and his companion Joanne Wentworth of Danvers, Nicholas Foote and Ann Mahon of Rowley, Robert Foote and his wife Janet of Rowley, Michael Foote and his wife Alexandra of South Berwick, Maine; four sisters, Kathleen Henry of Parrish, Fla., Lisa Player of Topsfield, Mary Foote-Hill and her husband Andrew Hill of Georgetown, Kristen Foote  and  her husband Claudy Jean-Charles of Ipswich; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends who are left to cherish the memory of David as their brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend.
