David Hatch Obituary

David Alan Hatch, 76

1947 - 2023

Danvers - David Alan Hatch, 76, beloved husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, died early Wednesday at his home in Danvers following a courageous battle with cancer. His last days were spent with his loving family, cracking jokes and making us all smile, just as he always did with anyone lucky enough to know him.

Dave thrived on meeting people, making new friends, and helping others, and his laughter and kindness touched many over the years. He was the devoted husband of Linda J. (Charbonneau) Hatch, with whom he shared over 51 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Lynn, David was the son of the late Ernest S. Hatch and Mary A. (Stafford) Hatch-Muise. After graduating from Lynn English High School in 1964, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 36 years. He kept busy following retirement, charming customers and coworkers as a sales associate at Doyon's Appliance in Gloucester for 15 years.

David was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Danvers, and the Parents for Music Education in Danvers, the latter of which he served as president. He enjoyed coaching his children in little league baseball and soccer and cheering for the Red Sox.

David is survived by his loving wife, two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael D. and Erin D. Hatch, and Steven A. and Christina Hatch, all of Danvers, his daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Ryan Myers of Franklin, his brother, William "Fred" Hatch of Lynn, his beloved grandchildren, Emma and Eleanor Hatch and Madelyn and Nolan Myers, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dog Winnie, a constant companion who could often be found in his lap or on his bed. David is preceded in death by his sisters, Bernice (Hatch) Anderson and Diane (Hatch) Perham, and brother Ronald Hatch.
