Donald Savio Obituary

Facilities Manager for RaytheonLYNN-Donald E. Savio, 74, of Lynn died Friday in Salem Hospital after a lengthy illness. He is the husband of Dorothy (Emery) Savio with who he shared 52 years of marriage.Born in Lynn, son of the late Michael & Elvira (Manchin) Savio, he was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1950. He also attended Newman Preparatory School and Wentworth Institute. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean Conflict.He was employed for the Raytheon Corporation as a Facilities Manager, for over 30 years.Donald was an accomplished wood carver making many walking sticks and canes for people throughout the North Shore Area. He also taught woodcarving at the Saugus Senior Center & Rockler Woodworking. He was a member of the National Wood Carvers Assn., the Swampscott Club, Post 345 American Legion, and was a Past President of the Raytheon Management Club.In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons Donald E. Savio, Jr & his wife Sun Cha Kim of Holden, MA, David Savio & his wife Trinia Hutchins of New Hampshire, & James O'Meara of Lynn, two grandchildren Adam Savio & April Savio, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Michael Savio.Service Information: Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St., Lynn Tuesday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Peabody at 10 a.m. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park.
