Ewing, VA - George A. Carrelli of Ewing, VA died suddenly on Sunday 12/19/2021 at the age of 72. He lived in Lynn, MA most of his life, and also spent his childhood years in Philadelphia, PA where he was born. He was the beloved husband to Diane L. (Freitag) Carrelli, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his 7 children. Angela Carrelli and her partner Ron Ross of Haverhill, MA, Geena Carrelli and her partner Eric Peereboom of Weare, NH, George Carrelli of Ewing VA, Rosemarie Carrelli and her partner Timothy Hamblin of Ewing, VA, Charles Carrelli and his partner Caitlyn Morley of Danvers, MA, Jay and his wife Samantha Carrelli of Knoxville, TN and Jamie and her husband Juan Torres of Lynn, MA. As well as 9 grandchildren, Angelina, Abigail, Cloie, Madison, Ashley, Ryker, Antonio, Giovanni and Carmelo.
George was a recipient of many military decorations and awards. Having served 3 terms in Vietnam, he was a member of a long range reconnaissance patrol in the 75th Ranger Regiment. He continued his service in the Massachusetts Army Nation Guard. He was a life member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was employed and served as a manager of the William P. Connery American Legion Post of Lynn, MA for many years. He was also a proud member of the Rolling Thunder Tennessee Chapter 4. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Service Information: His services and burial will be held this week in Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Wounded Warrier Project @ https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate

My condolences to George´s family. I had the honor of serving with George for several years in Bravo Company 1-182 Infantry, MA ARNG, Melrose MA. George or Sergeant Carrillo, was a strong yet humble soldier willing to always selflessly lead by example his fellow soldiers. It was a pleasure to work him. So sorry for your loss.
