Helen "Claire" Sholds

PEABODY -- Helen "Claire"? (Newman) Sholds, age 84, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020. Born on April 21st, 1935 in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Kuzmin) Newman and Percy Newman. She grew up in Lynn, MA, graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1953 and went on to work as a records librarian at the General Electric in Lynn for 42 years. Claire was the devoted wife of Robert E. Sholds with whom she spent 65 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Diane (Sholds) Gallucio and Richard Sholds and his wife Sheryl all of Peabody. She was a wonderful grandmother to Christopher Gallucio and his wife Jaime, Andrea Pease and her husband Joshua, Nicole Silva and her husband Johnathan all of New Hampshire, and Kayla, Michael, and Kristina Sholds all of Peabody. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Brayden and Sophie Pease, Dylan Gallucio, and Colton Silva. She leaves her sister Gail Mezakowski of Florida and was predeceased by her two brothers, Thomas Newman and Robert Newman. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well. Claire was an avid crafter and knitter and loved to waltz with her husband. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida as well as summering at her camp in Maine and traveling the country. Her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved them beyond measure. She will be missed by all. Service Information: A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn at 11a.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
