John Jervinis, 99

Lynn - Mr. John Jervinis, age 99 of Lynn, died, peacefully with his family at his side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Friday February 25, 2022. He was the husband of the late Christine (Tournas) Jervinis, with whom he was blessed with 65 years of marriage.

A lifelong resident of Lynn, John was the son of Ignatios and Anthe (Demergy) Jervinis. He attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1940. He would later earn a Bachelor's Degree in accounting from Northeastern University.

John was a proud World War II Veteran serving in the Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant in the 15th Air Corps from 1943-1945. He operated the ball turret as one of several gunners on the B-24 Liberator aircraft bomber, where he flew in 50 combat missions. He was a lifelong member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn, and in the late 1960's he volunteered as treasurer.

He retired as manager of data processing from the City of Waltham and continued his private accounting until he was into his 90's.

He is survived by 2 sons; Dr. James Jervinis and his wife Nancy of Danvers and Florida, and Charles Jervinis and his wife Bette of Londonderry, NH, 6 grandchildren Peter, Justin, Jaclyn, and Sarah Jervinis, Michelle Elms, and Richard Bowden, 5 great grandchildren; Randy, Christina, Xenia, Sophia, and Marta, 2 brothers Charles Jervinis, and George Jervinis, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Bessie "Betty" Kiricoupolos and Mary Siraco.

He was loved and highly respected by all that knew him, and truly was part of the greatest generation.

Service Information: His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am from the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am in St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation at the Funeral Home prior to the Service from 9:00am-10:30am. Donations in his memory may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House 78 Liberty St. Danvers, MA 01923. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com
