Joseph J. McLaughlin

LYNN -- Joseph J. McLaughlin, born in North Reading, was the son of the late Joseph J. McLaughlin and Virginia (Killam) McLaughlin. Joe moved and was raised in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Tech. He went on to attain multiple licenses as a Class 1 supervising builder, engineer, and iron worker. He constructed multiple buildings and developments such as the Salem Power Plant and O'Keefe Center. He worked in Boston, Texas, and Colorado. He often was very generous in providing cheap, quality labor on construction to those in need. Joseph passed away on hospice with his family at his side. He leaves behind four children, Lisa Hally, Annette Avery, Joseph McLaughlin III and George McLaughlin; as well as 10 grandchildren; and his sister, Virginia Stockton; and brother, William McLaughlin. Service information: Services will be held at St. Pius V Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 14, with a burial to follow at Pine Grove. All friends and family are welcome.
