Great-Grandma Mary,
I will miss you. I already miss writting to you. Mommy says that I can still see you and talk to you in my dreams. If you see pokie can you tell him that I miss him and that speeding is fine. My dad took him to a pond at his work.

Mom was a special person. She raised 5 children by herself. She loved music, dancing, hanging out with her buds, sports, her family and, of course, the highway patrol.
Mom was also a friend and confidant. We will miss mom so very much, but we know we will see her again in Heaven.
God bless you mom, we love you.

We were so fourunate to have had "grandma" in our lives. Even though I only met her a few times, my husband has such fond memories of her. She was a wonderful woman with a great spirit about her. She will be missed but the fun times are the ones that we will always remember!!!!

I'm Dot (Dorothy), Mary's daughter.

When I was quite young, my big brother Bill taught me how to read. My mom ran with it. She took me on regular jaunts to the Pomona Library. I became a voracious reader and reading became a staple in my life. Now, I'm writing two books...

I loved spending time with my mom--going places together and sharing time and events together. We particularly always found lots to do when Uncle Dick came to town.

As a child, we had three important events: LA County Fair, Disneyland, and going down to San Diego to spend a week with Aunt Polly and Uncle Burr's family. I guess going down to see my cousins was always the most important time for me. We were a close-knit bunch.

My mom loved to go out dancing and loved to have fun in life.

She loved football. She enjoyed both college and professional games, but for me it's always been strictly pro football.

When betting for fun in an office pool, I would give her a call and ask her who "looked good" to her. She would explain why I should pick this team over that team. She could recall how the team played the previous season, etc. Invariably, she chose the winner.

I loved my mom and I know she loved me, too.

When we went to California in 1996, Aunt Mary let us stay at her house for 3 days... She made us feel welcome and at home. We loved her and we will never forget Aunt Mary and her hospitality.

Mary McGarry was one of the kindest, most generous and loving people I've ever known in my life.

To me, she wasn't just a relative, but a link to my past, a compass to gage where I come from and where I'm going. I never sought her advice, but her life proved advice enough.

Now I have to sail on without her to give me my bearings. I'll have to use what I learned from my time with her, and treasure the memories I have.

I'm going to miss Grandma Mary deeply.

My "Great Aunt" Mary was such a cool lady!!! She was such a kick, anybody would just love her to bits. I stayed with Aunt Mary when I'd come down for the races and believe it or not...Aunt Mary was a Jeff Gordon fan! She thought he was cute! She was so much fun. I will truly miss her and look forward to seeing her again when we meet up in Heaven!! I love you Aunt Mary!!
