Abigail West Obituary

ABIGAIL RAE WEST

June 16, 1993 – Nov. 22, 2006

Abbey West, 13, of Imperial, was taken from us in an off-roading accident while with friends and family at Superstition Mountains, Nov. 22, 2006.
In her short life, it's fair to say that Abbey left a big impression on everyone she met. Her smile, her friendliness and her sense of adventure showed her love of life.
She loved camping in the desert, the beach and the Colorado River; riding ATVs and her horse, Whiskey; barrel racing, cheerleading, playing volleyball, participating in 4-H; singing and dancing; and fishing in Cabo San Lucas with family and friends.
The eighth grade honor society student at Frank Wright Middle School in Imperial showed promise at everything she did and her spirit made everyone who knew her thankful for the times that they shared with her. Her younger nieces and nephews especially loved her, jumping up and down when she entered the room, all vying for her attention.
She is survived by her parents Jeff and Tracy West, her sister Aimee West of Maricopa, AZ., sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Aaron Etzel of Chandler, AZ., brother Peter West of El Centro, sister Katie West of Imperial, maternal grandmother Ruby Marcum of Imperial, paternal grandmother Glenna West of San Diego, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
Viewing services will be Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, 11 a.m. at Faith Assembly Church in Imperial. Internment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
A scholarship fund in Abbey's honor has been established at Sun Community Federal Credit Union.

I never thought,
I would see the day.
When you wouldn't be there,
to show me the way.
You taught me the difference,
between right and wrong.
You always had a way,
but that was before you were gone.
You'd come in my room to play,
To tease and to tickle,
Oh.. you always made me smile.
I don't know how you did it,
I'm not sure I really care.
But I know that you are with me,
I know that you are there.
I cry and I cry,
for what seems like forever.
But I know someday will come,
And we will be together.
One day you were there,
the next you had to leave.
I didn't know what to do,
I didn't know what to believe.
In front of my friends,
I tried not to cry.
But I kept wondering why.
Why this and why that,
why you had to go.
I tried my hardest,
not to let my feelings show.
I couldn't just say,
my friend had died.
I knew nothing would change,
so I kept it all inside.
It took me quite a while,
to accept that you had died.
With that I want to say,
I miss you and goodbye..

i miss you very much abbigail, its very hard to write to you knowing that you passed away..i love you very much and hopet o see you again one day i love you abbey....

To My Little Sister Abbey: I miss you so much and want you to know that I will always love you. I wish so badly that I could just have five more minutes to talk to you. Help me watch over my kids while you're up there in Heaven. Thanks.

Love your brother, Peter

My dear sweet Abbey,
Days go by and it seems so unreal that you are gone. Our family will never be the same without you, but we are blessed that we had you here for thirteen and a half years. We miss you so much and we will be reunited someday.
Love you sweet angel!

Just a few thoughts about our angel that will stay with me forever.
Skipping
Swimming
Singing
Swinging to a country song
Sitting high in the saddle
Stinky pigs!!
Sweet as a button
Stong love for family, friends and children
And last,
SNUGGLING AND SMILING!
But right now, laughing, because she didn't know Aunt Cathy could write something like this. Or even use a computer!
I love all of you.

My dad was taking us to school one morning and he said... look girls, do you see the rainbow?
I said... Abbey pushed a button

Grandma said we will always think of you when we see a rainbow knowing that you helped make it.

I love you and will always remember you because you are in my heart.

May 30, 2007

The song that once was in my heart
Has gone away today
The flowers were placed in rare array
Upon my best friend's grave
I tried to just remember all the moments
That we shared
Good times outweighed the the bad times
We were the perfect pair
She would start a sentence
And I finished it for her
Our thinking was together
I always knew the words
Now my best friend can talk to Jesus
I'll end that sentence too
For tomorrow comes real often
And your work on earth is through.

This goes out to abbey and lynsey...abbey we qall miss you so much!!!may you rest in peace

Dear Abbey,

I love you and miss you so much. You were so much fun to be around all the time and I feel very fortunate that God gave me the time we had together. I know you have a special place in heaven. And I know just as we were best friends here I know the lord will reunite us forever in heaven because in John 3:15 it says “Whosever believes in Jesus Christ has eternal life” Abbey you meant everything to me and now that your gone you will always have that special place in my heart forever and I will cherish all our memories together. There’s no replacing you! You will always be my best friend, my everything and my hip attachment forever! I LoVe yoU aBigaiL rAe west!

Love Your Best Friend,

April 26, 2007

I miss you more than words can say,
I think of you each single day,
I love you like my sister and friend,
I'll always love you til the end,

The more i think, the more i weep,
at least i have memories to keep,
I know we'll meet again soon enough,
but i can't wait cos this is tough,

every time i see a pretty flower,
i think of you then my eyes shower,
every time i take out my photo pile,
i look at you and me and i smile,

all the memories i hold in my heart,
no need to miss you, we're not apart.

"IN OUR HEARTS"

Why are you gone?
It is not fair
I want to hold you close
But your not there
I remember all the good times we used to share
No other person could compare
Your smile will stay locked in my head
I used to love it when you said
Yeah yeah let the good times roll
Or nah nah pass me the control
I know you would not want me to cry
But I didn’t want to say goodbye
I know you would want me to be happy for you
Because you are no longer blue
You sit up there on a cloud
And look down on us being loud
And even though I am sad
I know I must not be mad
But just remember the memories won't part
I love you forever
With all my heart

Go rest now precious one,
Your life in eternity has just begun.
Now you can walk, your legs are brand
new.
All of heaven is now in your view.

Look all around,it's all in your sight,
There will never be another dark night.
Flowers and jewels, the street of pure gold, and all of the things that have been told.

I can just imagine the smile on your face as you walk all around in that beautiful place.
Greeting our loved ones as you walk along, while singing heaven's most beautiful song.

This is so very hard, but it will all be okay,it isn't goodbye,we'll see you one day.
We love you and we'll miss you and at times it will be tough, but as with everything,God's grace will be enough.
....we miss you so much abbigail...

Abbey Rae

A smile you couldn’t miss
Her heart, warm as the sunset
Her cheeks, glowing as if sun kissed
Abbey Rae, we will never forget.

Spiritual, talented, friendly and smart
Sassy, cool, pretty and tough
She truly was a work of art
Abbey Rae had all that stuff.

A caring family who loves her much
Memories of their carefree girl
Riding, camping, dancing and such
Abbey Rae would give it a whirl.

Now she’s gone to live with the Lord
With family and friends that went before
Living in heaven is her reward
Abbey Rae received the key to that door.

She’ll wait for us to finish our climb
Her family and friends she left behind
She’ll hug us and yell, “It’s about time.”
Abbey Rae, you will always be on our mind.

For Abbey.....the memory of your smile will warm our hearts forever..

ABBEYS SUNSET

We saw you smiling
in shades of pink accross the desert sky
We knew that you had come
To help us say "goodbye"

And so we stood
hand in hand...heart to heart
smiling back at you
Until the world went dark.

Abigail, dear Abigail
How we wished for you to stay
Then we heard you whisper
"Don't worry...I'm ok"

Goodbye our little sister
Goodbye our darling friend
Goodbye our sweet, sweet daughter
Until we meet again.

The word of God will comfort and carry you through. It has for me. I didn't know Abigail, but after reading about her, I saw the same qualities, my daughter Heaven had. It will be a year on the 8th of January, that We lost Heaven to a car accident. Trust in the Lord. He is good to those who trust in him. He has carried me through this whole year. I can look back now and say, The Lord is amazing.. This life on earth was only meant to be for a while. Our promise is to live in eternity in Heaven, with Jesus. Abigail is there in Heaven now helping get it ready for us all. If you ever need someone to talk to that has been there. I am here for you.. My Prayers are for God to continually give your family comfort.

Dear Jeff, Tracy & family...
We don't know your family but our hearts go out to you. In reading all the wonderful things about Abigail and the sunshine she brought to ohters, I know the Lord was calling a special ANGEL home... May the love of Jesus Christ be with you and your family during this difficult time. God Bless, The Buford family.
God we pray:
God, you sacrificed your son so that we and our children would transcend physical death. We know that you grieved when he was crucified and that you grieve over all the atrocities done by men -- especially in your name. You know and understand grief as you know and understand all. You know best how to comfort the West Family. Lift their hearts up to you and fill them with your peace. Your understanding is beyond our human comprehension, but give them the knowledge and faith to endure even that which they can't understand. Let them be aware of you always God, and help them to remember that your Love is Life that can never really be taken away. Amen

Tracy and Jeff,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I knew about Abbey through my daughter since they were close school friends. She often referred to her as "the coolest" for her beautiful personality and the positive influence she had on others. I pray the Lord will give you strength and peace during this time and the years to come. She will not be forgotten in our hearts.

To Tracy and Ruby that I know and to her family that I haven't met. I am so very sorry for your loss. And to the short life of a beautiful young woman. I met her at Grandma Ruby's bedside in SD. Such a pretty girl. I can tell she was loved by all, and loved her active life. In my early life as an OR nurse, I never shared the excitement of the dirt that the Harmon and Marcum family did. I tried at 17, 40 years ago this past summer. But had too much fear of what was over the hill. But, God takes us while we are having fun, or when we are old and ill. We have no choice. We go and let go, when called. May she watch over all of us that are left, in this unknown world. Have no fear, live life to the fullest! My sincere sympathy.

Don't think of them as gone away,
their journey has just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.

Just think of them as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days and years.

Think of how they must be wishing
that we could know, today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of them as living
in the hearts of those they touched
for nothing loved is ever lost
and they were loved so much.

I am so very sorry for your loss.
