EUGENE LE BLANC Obituary
Eugene Louis Le Blanc, Glamis, CA passed away on February 1, 2016 in San Diego at UCSD Hospital of congestive heart failure. He was 88 years old, the 10th child of Eugene Sr. and Marie Le Blanc, born August 20, 1927 in East Highland, California. Mr. Le Blanc (Beau) was owner/operator of Le Blanc's Engineering in Sunnyvale, CA until his retirement to Glamis in 1979. Prior to owning Glamis, he was involved in many sports mainly building racing cars, he was sole sponsor of men's basketball, softball, and women's softball teams, traveling with his teams all over the United States. His teams reached National Championships in the early 1970's. He was an avid fisherman and boating enthusiast, holding the title of Commodore of South Bay Yacht Club in Alviso, CA. When he purchased Glamis in 1979, he began to build a place for sand buggy recreation, bringing thousands of sand buggy vacationers to Imperial Valley. He owned the Glamis Beach Store, SandBar and Restaurant, helping the logo of Glamis "Sand Toy Capital of the World", a world wide known Sand Buggy site. In the off-season of Glamis, Beau enjoyed cruising with his wife Bessie and family on the Princess Cruise line. He was known as "Papa", most traveled passenger, to the many crewmembers and Captains throughtout the Fleet. He was preceded in death by parents, Eugene, Sr. and Marie Le Blanc; first wife, Catherine T. Le Blanc; nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Bessie B. Le Blanc of Glamis; daughter, Betty Jean "Jeannie" Le Blanc of Glamis; son, Eugene "Pierre" Jr. of Lake Havasu City, AZ; grandsons, Patrick (Amber) Sprinkle and Daniel (Catherine) Sprinkle of Portland, OR; brother, Maynard (Erma) Le Blanc of Santa Clara, CA; sisters, Marilyn (Jerry) Downey of Redding, CA and Marylou Williamson of San Jose, CA; Bessie's children, Debbie (Gary) Blevins of Phoenix, AZ; Rhonda (John) Fargo of Brawley, CA; Wanda (Joel) Carter of San Diego, CA; Karen (Bub) Cherland of Yuma, AZ; Andrea (Bruce) Martin of Escondido, CA; and Shirley (Mike) Miller of San Diego, CA; special friends, Jurg and Joanne, as well as many friends of the Sand Dune family and Princess Cruise line. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Glamis, CA.
