On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Terry W. Rider, lovingly known as Pa to his grandchildren, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Heart & Hand. Terry, who was 75 years old, was born on January 4, 1949, to his parents, Fred and Arlie Rider, in Brawley, California. He grew up in Seeley, California, alongside his siblings. He attended Seeley Elementary, graduated from El Centro Union High School in 1967, and attended Imperial Valley College and graduated in 1973.

Terry married Dolly Nelson in October of 1968. He was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War, where he served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He worked for the Imperial County Fire Department for ten years before retiring as the Department's Chief. He went to work for the family business Frontier Ag Service for the remainder of his working career. Terry was also known as a baseball coach, an avid hunter, a golfer, a 4-H leader, and an honorary FFA chapter farmer. He also loved going for rides in his jeep and rock crawling. Terry was an active member of St. Mary's Church and the VFW.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kay, and brothers, Darrel and Teddy. He is survived by his wife, Dolly Rider; children, Ryan Rider and Pam Daniels, Terilee and Chris Povall, and Lance and Nicole Rider; grandchildren, Desmond, Logan, Landis, Dalton, Krosby, Pason, Nateya, Priseis, Rider, Bronson, Sawyer Gabby, Keypher and Jake, Tatyana, Ronald, Lee, Shelby, and Cameron; and great-grandchildren, Gwenyvere and Ophelia: sister, Jenell Bertussi; sister-in-law, Donna Rider; and goddaughter, Stephanie Sullivan.

The Funeral Service will be held on June 20, 2024, at St. Mary Church. The rosary will start at 9:30 a.m., followed by mass. A reception will be held in the church parish following the mass.
