Phyllis Rice Obituary

Phyllis Bacon Rice

Franklin, TN

Phyllis Bacon Rice- Age 64, July 3, 2016. She is survived by her daughters, Anna Rice Thomas (Jeremy) and Rebecca Rice Haskins (Michael); grandchildren, Ali, Josh, David, Eleanor, William and Olivia; brothers, Mike Bacon (Cathy) and Pat Bacon (Gwen).

Phyllis was a vibrant and talented woman who loved God and her family fiercely. She was spontaneous and adventurous; there was never a dull moment around her. She was a prayer warrior, an artist, a tennis player, a ballroom dancer, and a karaoke champion. She also had a talent for decorating; whether it was herself, a home, a garden, or a friend, she knew how to make things beautiful. But the two things that defined her life the most were her love of Jesus and her love of music. When she combined the two, it was powerful indeed. She was a good and faithful servant to Christ, and though she will be missed by many here, we know she is in His restorative presence where there is joy beyond measure.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 7 at New Hope Community Church, 605 Wilson Pk, Brentwood, TN 37027. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Phyllis was like my sister. We had many years growing up getting together at Christmas and summer vacation. She was always there for me. She was always going somewhere. She loved Jesus and people. It's like there is a giant hole in the world since she's gone but she is with Jesus and will be looking out for all of us.
