John B. Doremire, 89

John B. Doremire, age 89 of West Lafayette Indiana died on Monday, August 8 at Heritage Nursing Home.

Born in Chalmers, Indiana on July 20, 1927, he was the son of the late John and Maude Doremire. He married Grace Doremire and was married for 38 years before divorcing. His widow Norma Doremire survives. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Army for two years, and was a truck driver and crane operator for Teamsters Local No. 135. He delivered, set up and built homes for National Homes for 50 years. After National Homes failed, he drove his own semi truck for 10 years.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sara Harlan, (husband Arni) and Barbara Doremire, (partner Jeff Stewart); and a son, Rodney Doremire all of Lafayette, sisters Bessie Henson of Fountain, IN and Mary Evelyn, "Pat" Musselman of Garland, TX, three grandchildren Kristi Gaeta, Jenelle Hollis, Brent Justice and six great grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob and Noah Gaeta, Madison, Myah and Mallory Kelley all of Lafayette. Stepchildren Richard (Candie) Firebaugh, of FL, John (Cathy) Firebaugh Jr., Brookston, Sharon (Denny) Long, CA and Catherine (Bob) Lafara, OR.

Preceded in death by twin infant sons, son James Doremire, grandson Kasey Kelley, brothers, Harry, George, Lester and Fred Eugene Doremire, and sisters Linda Bell, and Helen Riley.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 26 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Greentree Assisted Living, 3575 Senior Place, West Lafayette, IN 47906. Simplicity Funeral Care entrusted with care.
