Lowell Spesard Obituary

Lowell Lee Spesard, 77

Lowell Lee Spesard, 77, of Cutler, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.

He was born December 27, 1937, in Catlin, IL, to Lloyd and Pearl Archer Spesard. On July 23, 1958, Lowell married Carol Ann Hawn; she preceded him in death.

Lowell was a 1956 graduate of Potomac (Illinois) High School. He then served in the United States Air Force. Throughout his life, Lowell was a farmer. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Delphi, Carroll Athletic Booster Club, and 4-H Exhibit Board. Lowell enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren especially their sporting events.

Surviving Lowell are his children, Lloyd (Zhen) Spesard, Lonnie (Jennifer) Spesard, Laura (Eric) Yoder, Lisa (Terry) McGill, and Lance (Debra) Spesard; sisters, Myrna (Robert) Elgin, Dorothy Barnett, and Betty Buck; sisters-in-law, Mary (Bud) Dornette, Agnes Hawn, and Beth (Bobby) Myers; grandchildren, Jeremy Spesard, Lauren Spesard, Carson (Kaitlin) Spesard, Aaron Spesard, Ryan Spesard, Dylan Spesard, Jared (Amanda) Yoder, Brooke Yoder, Drew Yoder, Sydney McGill, Kacie McGill, Mattie McGill, Evan McGill, Nicole (Sam) Langfield, Adam (Emily) Spesard, and Paige Spesard; great-granddaughters, Laina and Eleanor Yoder; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Lowell will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Delphi, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015, at the church with Pastor John Westfall officiating. Burial will follow in Ball Hill Cemetery with military graveside honors. Memorials in Lowell's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, Carroll Athletic Boosters, or Rossville Athletic Boosters. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.

Lowell called me "slickmeat" because when he came to my house when I was little to see my dad, Mike Pearson, I asked if I could make him a sandwich. he gave me the nickname and he teased me ever since. always made me smile
