Manuela Davila Obituary
Manuela S. (Soto) Davila, 88, of Lafayette, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort. Born November 20, 1925 in San Marcos, TX, she was the daughter of the late Pantaleon and Victoriana (Landeros) Soto.
Manuela married Jose Davila on September 16, 1945 in San Marcos, TX and he preceded her in death. She loved working at Arni's and thought of it more as a hobby than a job for 18 years. Spending time with her grandchildren was the greatest joy of her life.
Surviving are her sons, Benito Davila (wife, Lamyra) and Jose Davila (wife, Elizabeth) both of Lafayette; four sisters, Isabel Flores of Lebanon, Paula Caudillo of Lebanon, Petra Mirelez of Advance, and Alvina Valtierra of Saganaw, MI; two brothers, Gregorio Soto of Chicago, IL and Alejandro Soto of Florida; six grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Visitation Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home, with Rosary at 4:45 p.m. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Father Ted Dudzinski officiating. Entombment to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Healthcare. Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
