Michael Mellor Obituary
August 18, 1985 ~ February 11, 2014
Michael Scott Mellor passed away with family at his bedside on February 11, 2014 after a 6-week battle with respiratory complications from the H1N1 flu. Scott will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, warm personality, and big hugs. Scott enjoyed fishing, traveling to Florida, and country music. He will be greatly missed by his family who so dearly loved him. Scott resided in Lafayette, where he was employed as an assistant manager at Cracker Barrel. He was very passionate and enjoyed his 10 years working at Cracker Barrel. Scott was originally from Gas City where he graduated from Mississinewa High School in 2004 and later attended Ivy Tech Community College.
Scott is the son of Dr. Robert and Dr. Laura Mellor. He is also survived by his grandmother, Margaret Johnson, of Lynn, Indiana; brother, David Mellor of Cleveland, Ohio; twin sister, Christy (Dr. John) Dustin of Bloomington; and sister, Dr. Carla Kilgore of Carmel, Indiana. He is also survived by 5 nephews and 1 niece.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tony Johnson, of Lynn, Indiana, and grandparents, Dr. William and Louise Mellor of Uhrichsville, Ohio.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Ole Miss Youth Sports, Scott Mellor Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 11 am-1:30 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, Indiana with services to follow at 1:30 pm.
Private burial will be in Winchester Indiana.

Seems like only yesterday Scotty was running up and down the basketball floor playing AAU basketball for me. What great times those were and I will never forget you hustle and great attitude you brought to our teams. Carol and I will keep you and your family in our prayers.
