Edwin Michael “Mike” Dickson, 73, of Jonesboro departed this life on March 4, 2026, in Jonesboro.
He was born December 13, 1952, in Jonesboro to the late Edwin Graham Dickson and Paula Sue Dickson. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1971.
Mike was well known around downtown Jonesboro for his musical talents and friendly personality. He loved sharing music with others and could often be found singing at various downtown spots and performing with the Greasy Tree Band. A passionate sports fan, Mike also enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, which he often called his “second home.” He loved the beach and the relaxed coastal lifestyle so much that friends affectionately nicknamed him the “Big Kahuna.” Many others simply knew him as “Mike.”
Mike was a proud alumnus of Arkansas State University and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity during his time there. He cherished the memories and friendships formed during those years.
Above all, Mike had a caring heart. He devoted much of his time to taking care of his parents, something that meant a great deal to him. He also dearly loved his dogs, Bella and Max, who were constant companions in his life.
He is survived by several close friends who will remember his music, his laughter, and his larger-than-life spirit.
Mike once shared these words that reflected the heart he hoped others would remember:
"You, my family and my friends are the ones that I hold so dear… so precious is your love… so wonderful is your friendship. You are the ties that bind me to this earth and the strings that will always connect me to this world. Think of me as I was and as I aspired to be—full of life and love.”
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 10:30 a.m.
Mike will be remembered for his music, his love of the beach, and the many friendships he made along the way.
