Maxine Little Obituary

Maxine Mardell Little, 90, of Walnut Ridge, entered into her heavenly home on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 31, 1935, in Minturn to the late James Owen and Rachel McCord (Pace). Maxine was a faithful member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. She was employed at Lawrence Manufacturing in Walnut Ridge as a seamstress for several years, later owning Mardell Fashions in Hoxie, retiring from Walmart in her later years. Maxine loved her children and grandchildren and took pride in making clothes for others, undertaking numerous clothing repairs throughout her life. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Little; her siblings, Don Pace, Rudolph Pace, and Dale Pace; and one infant sister. Survivors include her children, Mitch Little (Janet) of Hoxie and Gary Little (Rhonda) of Jonesboro; sister, Angie McElrath of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ashley Cox (Coty), Weston Little, Natasha Reece (Lance) and Josh Graddy; great-grandchildren, Luke Blackwell, Brooklyn Blackwell, Katelyn Graddy; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members. Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12 until 1 p.m. in Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge, with funeral services to immediately follow at 1 p.m. Tim Campbell and Dennis Truxler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jackie O'Connor, Terry Spradlin, Jason Bullard, Terry Boothe, Preston Aaron, and Dylan Aaron. The family extends their gratitude to Legacy Hospice and Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center or the First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.
