NEWPORT - Dion Ferman Sutfin, 54, of Newport, formerly of Lake City, departed this life on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2025, in Colorado. He was born on July 23, 1971, in Piggott, to Larry and Barbara Sutfin.
Dion spent 35 years behind the wheel as a dedicated truck driver, a career he took great pride in. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and taking his Sea-Doo out on the water. Spending time playing with his best friends his dogs, Harley and Rocco. He loved customizing his truck and motorcycle with new features.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Christopher Shane Sutfin; and his best friend, his dog, Rocco.
Dion is survived by Sarah Sutfin, mother of his two daughters, Ashley Sutfin of Brookland and Tori Butler (Eric) of Lake City; his mother, Barbara Sue Sutfin; one brother, Noel Sutfin of Brookland; one sister, Deanna Petty of Brookland; five grandchildren, Jasmine Smith, Jace Leggett, Gunner Sutfin, Charleigh Lavigne, and Stormie Butler; nieces, Skylar Hester, Aleisia Petty, and Melinda Riggins; nephew, Braden Riggins; one great-niece, Willow Golden; and a lifetime of friends who will deeply miss him.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 23, at Refuge General Baptist Church in Lake City, beginning at 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with interment at Lake City Cemetery.
