JONESBORO - Judith (Judy) Lee Wheeler Wilson, 85, of Jonesboro, passed from this earth into eternity Aug. 9, 2025, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born Oct. 6, 1939, in Paragould, to Leachville residents Joe Wheeler and Mary Lee Bohannon Wheeler, she was a 1957 graduate of Leachville High School and the widow of Curtis Allen Wilson. Judy was a member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro where she was active for many years with the Special Needs Ministry. She also spent years involved with the Special Olympics in support of her daughter Gena Jo, the angel of her life.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson Austin Wheeler Bentley, and a great grandson Judah Guntharp.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Gena Jo Wilson of Russellville and fiancé Bob Wheeler, Kurtiss Lee and Jim Guntharp of Jonesboro; Kechia Lynn and Donald Bentley of Russellville; and, one son by love, Eddie Lopez of Jonesboro. Grandchildren, Adrin Bentley, Dillon Bentley, Payton Bentley, Luke Guntharp (Sally), Josh Guntharp (Bridget), and Jake Guntharp.
Great-grandchildren, Sage Bentley, Joshua, Elijah, Anna, and Addie Guntharp, and Lacee Guntharp.
Mrs. Wilson is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Joan and Bill Field, her sister-in-law Jerris Woodard, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be today, at 2 p.m., at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Reverend Jay Jacobs officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Private burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. Adrin Bentley, Dillon Bentley, Payton Bentley, Luke Guntharp, Josh Guntharp, and Jake Guntharp will serve as pallbearers. Eddie Lopez and Bob Wheeler will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family prefers any memorials to the Special Needs Ministry of Central Baptist Church, 3707 Harrisburg Road, Jonesboro, Ark., 72404.
