April Ann (Brighenti) LaBruna, 78, of East Hartford, entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 3, 2025. She was born on March 14, 1947, in Hartford, CT and was the daughter of the late Emil Brighenti. April graduated from Northwest Catholic High School, Class of 1965. After high school, she married the love of her life of 58 years, Bill LaBruna, they settled down in East Hartford to raise a family. Prior to retirement, April worked as a dental assistant. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, and her grandson was the focal point of her life.
Along with her husband Bill, April is survived by her two children: Bill LaBruna, Jr. and his wife Charlene of Colchester and Nicole Weddall and her husband Dean of Colchester. One adored grandson Alexander "Xander" Weddall of Colchester. Her fur companion, Ranger, who never left her side. Her nephew Peter Cattanio and his wife Robin and her niece Susan Cattanio and her partner Al Boada. Along with many other relatives and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Tuesday morning. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
