James Brisbois Obituary

James N. Brisbois, 84, of Enfield, formerly of Springfield, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Baystate Medical Center.

He was born September 30, 1923 in Springfield to James and Isabelle (Hoye) Brisbois. James was a World War II Marine veteran serving in the Central Pacific Area. He worked as refrigeration supervisor for Carando Inc. for many years, retiring in 1989. James moved to Enfield in the 1980s and enjoyed golfing at Grassmere Country Club. He was also a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Longmeadow.

James leaves his wife of 59 years, Gena (Pio) Brisbois; his son, Michael Brisbois, and his wife, Shirley, of Chicopee; his daughter, Michele Isham of Springfield; his grandchildren, Gina Marie Samara and Nicholas Brisbois; five sisters, Isabelle Rosser, Lillian Demers, Claire Patterson, Joan Scovill and Barbara Diel, all of Colorado; his brother-in-law, Pasquale Pio of Somers; his sister-in-law, Henrietta Foisy of Enfield; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9:30 from Tazzini Funeral Home, corner of Locust and Main St., Springfield, with a Mass in St. Mary's Church in Longmeadow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held today from 5 to 7 p. m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
