It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a long time parishioner, Jebby Williams-Wilkey. Jebby died suddenly of an internal brain injury sustained on

Dec. 30, 2022.

Jebby was born to parents Jerry and Marva Williams on Aug. 6, 1957, at Manchester Memorial Hospital, Manchester. She was raised along with her siblings Joy, Judy, and Jerry Jr. in Manchester. Jebby's childhood was filled with many enriching activities, travel, and experiences. She was a student at Trudy Tyler School of Dance discovering what would prove to be her passion and purpose as a young adult. She was active in the Girl Scouts of America and the Church of the Assumption's CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) where she earned merits and gained her leadership skills. She is a graduate of The Austin School, West Hartford. She attended Bradford College, Haverhill, Massachusetts, experienced a study year abroad, Universidad de las Américas Puebla, Mexico and completed her Baccalaureate at the University of California Irvine. Jebby came to Los Angeles after completing her degree where she worked in the fashion industry in an executive search firm and later as a buyer for major retailers. She met her husband and partner in life, Lloyd Wilkey in the early 1980's and they were married at the Church of the Assumption in Manchester. Jebby and Lloyd's love produced their precious daughter Taylor Simone Wilkey. While raising her daughter and pouring her love into her family she moved into the education field, becoming an Early Education Teacher. She had a rewarding career filled with wonderful relationships and children as a teacher for more than 25 years. Jebby served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Vibiana's Cathedral Chapel and recently retired as School Board President of Cathedral Chapel School. Her final years were spent working for the Museum of Tolerance as a very passionate and knowledgeable Docent/Educator and caring for family, friends, and loved ones in her own stylish and selfless way.

I just found out an hour ago that Jebby had passed in December. I'm shocked. I had no idea. I didn't know whether to check off family or friend as Debby always called my Mom her "instant Mom". Lloyd, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and Taylor as well as to Joy and Judy. I hope to see you all at the memorial on Wednesday. God bless you Jebby. With love and sympathy, Ray
