Richard Lee Fraley of Enfield, CT, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in the presence of his loving wife, Beverly Fraley, of 33 years. Richard was born on June 5, 1945, in Kansas City, Kansas and was predeceased by his parents, Henry O. and Marie Fraley, his brother Ralph, and son, John Montagno.
He leaves behind a daughter, Caroline Quagliaroli of Stafford Springs, CT, and two sons, Michael and his wife, Robyn, of Windsor, CT, and Christopher and his husband, Victor Self, of Los Angeles, CA. Beverly and Richard have seven grandchildren: Morgan, Tyler Quagliaroli, and Mitchell Quagliaroli and his wife, Lexi, Benjamin and Rebecca Fraley, and Coco and Kiki Fraley Self, and one great-grandson, Everett Quagliaroli.
Richard was a 1963 graduate of Glastonbury High School, and served in the United States Coast Guard between 1965 and 1969, prior to working at Anderson Labs, and founding a start-up electronics company named Phonon Corporation, in Simsbury, CT, in 1982.
Richard enjoyed trains, reading, cooking, travel, entertaining, winters in Pompano Beach, and making memories with his grandchildren.
We are grateful for the loving care provided by his caregivers, Lola Stewart, Michelle Joseph, and Dionne Roberts.
The family is celebrating Richard's life with the public on Wednesday, August 27th, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Mill on the River Restaurant, in South Windsor, and planning to have a more formal celebration of Richard's life on Saturday, June 13th, 2026.
