Sarah Treat Melquist
Sarah Treat Melquist, 71, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, June 25th, 2023.
Sarah is survived by her two loving sons, Jason and Timothy, as well as her 3 cherished grandchildren, Emerson, Callan, and Delaney. Sarah also leaves behind her sister, Elizabeth Daley, the Daley and Treat families, as well as great friends including Cathy Thrall and Suzanne Couture.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Eleanor Treat and siblings Billy Tip, Robert, and Clifford Treat.
A lifelong resident of Manchester and Bolton, CT, Sarah was born on May 13th, 1952. She graduated from Bay Path College after high school and later went on to earn a degree from Eastern Connecticut University. Sarah took her education and passion to every job she held. She worked in Corporate America at AT&T, then began her journey into public service by working as a public-school teacher in Hartford, finally completing her career path in her most satisfying role at MACC Charities, alongside her great friend, Beth Stafford.
Sarah lived a life of great joy and commitment to community and charity. Her passionate spirit, love for family and community, and her beautiful sense of humor will live on in all those she has touched.
Services will be held at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, CT, on July 7th from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, Sarah's family respectfully requests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of memorial donations be made in her name to MACC Charities.
