Luanne Wright Obituary
Luanne Swank Wright, 78, of Rockford died Friday June 21, 2019 in her home. She was born January 29, 1941 in Freeport, the daughter of Jerry and Evelyn (Byrem) Swank. On August 13, 1960 she married Jim Wright in Freeport. Luanne was a Certified Public Accountant in the world of finance. She enjoyed working, playing mahjong, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-granddaughter. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and later Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She was a member of P.E.O. for 52 years beginning in Chapter IY. Surviving is her husband Jim of Rockford, IL; two sons Mark (Mary Jo) Wright of Freeport and Todd (Holly) Wright of Rockford; sister Mary Lou (Robert) Newton of Avon Park, FL; stepsister Bonnie Mueller; sister-in-law Sue Swank; four grandchildren Erik (Allie) Wright, Jenny (Orlin) Pineda, Brady Wright and Gannon Wright; and one great-granddaughter Ella Wright. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Morrel "Mope" Plager, and brother David. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 27, 2019 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held Wednesday June 26, 2019 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum. It was an honor and privilege being Luanne's friend and sharing her company. She was always full of joy and gracious to anyone she met.
Luanne was that rare and special person that comes along every so often in someone's life as a mentor, guide, teaching all of us about gratitude, patience,kindness, and love. She always spoke of her soul mate Jim with a sparkle in her eye. They are the truest sense of what it means to be a team if there ever was one. She loved her family to the inth degree, always sharing their joys and accomplishments. My heart goes out to the entire Wright family especially her beloved Jim. She now will be their guardian angel looking over them all. My life has been so enriched for knowing Luanne. Everyone should be so fortunate To have had someone like Luanne in their lives.

She was a beautiful person inside and out. Luanne, our FHS class of 58 shall miss you tremendously my prayers and thoughts for all our fellow classmates but most of all and more important to her husband Jim also a fellow classmate and to the rest of her family my sincere condolences and blessings from God to you all

Luanne was such a sweet, kind and caring woman. As a PEO sister, I always felt better having been in her presence. She will be forever missed.
